Pinch me please

This is the news I woke up to this morning.

OVERALL WINNER AND RUNNER UP for BOTS 2008
We are excited to announce the overall winners for the comp this year. Results were extremely close and there were so many talented entrants.
Our BOTS winner for 2008 is Melleny Ams who wins a $100 3AS shopping voucher. We were so impressed with Melleny's gorgeous entries that Melleny has been offered a 3AS DT spot on a permanent basis from December 1. Well done, Melleny.

Our runner-up for this series is the talented Rachael Merrick who wins a $ 50 3AS shopping voucher and a 2 months guest DT spot. Great work, Rach!

It was double the fun and excitement, as my lovely friend Rach, got runner up.

You can check it out here:

Two of my projects have been accepted for publication from this competition, so I'm not able to show you, just yet.

And as for the birthday boy - I can't show you any photos, he wouldn't allow me to take any. Maybe this afternoon.

It's been a busy week

Tee Ball Thursday
It's that time of the year again with Zac playing Tee Ball for the school every Thursday afternoon. They have a really good team this year. Last week they won 39 to 12. Today they won again 25 to 20, even with two players down.

Kloe's school had a special art exhibition on tonight. We went straight from school, to Tee Ball and then onto this. They had filled, the school gym with all the children's artwork from the year. It was so well put together and some of the artwork was amazing. We had a sausage sizzle for dinner and then all the grades sang a song. It was a lovely community event with lots of people there.

And tomorrow it's the 'Monster child's' birthday. I do say that, with lots of love and affection. What else would you call a boy who is born on Halloween. He is most impressed, with the 'Spooky Treat' bags, I have made. I found some cool, sour slime, sludge bars and brain buster lollies today - his response 'wicked'. Still can't believe, my boy is going to be 12.

A little something for my Gal

I have been doing so many 'have to' projects lately. I wanted to do something, just because. Kayla has been bugging me to make her something. She wants to run off, with each new project I make. I thought it was time, to create something special, just for her. She has been telling me she wanted something really pretty, with butterflies and bling. I made her this canvas, for her room on Saturday night. It is using Basic Grey Urban Prarie range of papers. I was going to put it away for Christmas, but I just couldn't help myself, I had to give it to her.

Edited: Sorry this is off to be published, I had to remove it. You have to be quick around here.

She totally loves it and has now requested more of them!!!

Around the house

This is what it used to look like before we had rain

This is what it is looking like now

Backyard

Veggie Garden

It's been a while since I have taken some photos around the house. The weather is slowly warming up. Every thing is growing - the grass especially. Amazing what a little bit of rain can do - the dust turns into grass.

We went and watched Chris play cricket yesterday. It looked like they were going to lose. After drinks the whole match turned around and got very exciting. They ended up winning by 15 runs.

Jarred bowling

What do you do at cricket when it is boring? - you take photos, of children with cheezel faces LOL!

And during the week one of our chooks laid this egg. This egg weighed 123g - an average egg weighs 60g - OUCH!! It was a huge - double yoker. It's the biggest one we have had yet. We get a large, double yoker like this about every second week.

School is back

school has started and the merry go round begins again............................
4 different drop offs, 4 different pick ups, after school activities, kindy duty, school reading, packing lunches and homework. Did I ever tell you how much I love holidays?

We had a great holiday. We didn't do very much at all. Lizzie came for a visit which we all enjoyed. Most of the time we stayed at home and did stuff here. It was nice and relaxing and a good recharge for the batteries.

Quick family update, as I know some of you, are so bored with all the scrapping.

Chris is working hard. He is off to Perth again next week. The cricket session has started. He is captain of C Grade and also on the committee.

Kayla is loving her new school and has made so many lovely new friends. She is back to being her bright, happy, bubbly self. Which we are so pleased about.

Zac still thinks school is boring. He doesn't like his teacher this year. Hopefully next year it will be more challenging for him. Psssst - he has a girlfriend. Her name is Crystal, but I didn't tell you. He has suddenly grown up in the last few weeks. Suddenly the appearance and hair, is very important, I wonder why? I am not complaining one little bit, I couldn't get this kid to brush his hair, not that long ago.

Kloe is doing really well at school. She is having a sleep over, at her friend Szara's house soon and is so excited about it.

Jarred was counting the sleeps to Kindy went back - this kid is so ready for school.

And a few pages I can share with you. I have been working on other projects - you will have to wait for those :)
